Cancer and Supportive Care Services The Cancer Resource Room
The Palliative Care Services provides 24/7 on-call telephone service for patients and their families in the Palliative Care program. It is located on the 4th floor at St. Martha's Regional Hospital. Patients are referrerd to a Nurse Consultant in the triage room and followed through their care. Patients may be referred to either the Medical Director of Palliative Care Services Dr. Michael MacKenzie or Dr. Maureen Allen, Associate Palliative Care Physician in a physician-to-physician referral. If patients must wait, the Cancer Resource Room provides a comfortable and relaxing setting with numerous resource pamphlets and literature. The VON provides the home care for palliative care patients.
